Nanny gets life for raping boy

Durban - The Nongoma Regional Court handed a life sentence to a 25-year-old woman on Monday for raping a 5-year-old boy she was hired to look after, police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Thembeka Luthuli-Mbele said the woman was arrested in January last year immediately after it was discovered that the boy had been raped.

"The court heard that the boy cried all the time when his mother washed him," said Luthuli-Mbele.

"Bruises were discovered on his private parts and he told his mother what his nanny had done to him," she said.

The incident happened in Zondela area in Ulundi.
