The state controlled Sunday Mail had the luxury to mention that President Mugabe who has been flown to Asia more than five times on ill-health was even better in terms of health than DPM Khupe.
“Over the past two months, DPM Khupe has been the least visible of the six principals. Despite several false allegations that he is not well, President Mugabe has been most visible while DPM Khupe has been conspicuous by her absence since her party congress,” wrote The Sunday Mail.
Meanwhile business came to a standstill at the Medical Chambers in Harare when President Mugabe visited an undisclosed doctor for unspecified ailment. His huge entourage of more than ten vehicles and motor bikes was all over the Medical Chambers while no one was allowed to move from one room to the other during the time when the frail octogenarian was receiving treatment as the whole place had been infested by security personnel.
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba was not available for comment at the time of publishing as his mobile phone was not reachable.
The 87 year old Mugabe suffers from prostate cancer and bad eye-sight and has been in and out of hospital for several times this year in Singapore gobbling more than $13 million of state funds in medical bills.(
