Jailed MDC MP Files Appeal
Harare — Zaka North House of Assembly Member Ernest Mudavanhu, who was on Tuesday jailed for 12 months for abusing subsidised farming inputs, yesterday filed an appeal at the High Court seeking to quash his conviction or at least reduce his sentence.
Mudavanhu (40), represented by Harare lawyer Mr Douglas Mwonzora, challenged the court's decisions, saying the magistrate wrongly convicted him and that she imposed an excessively harsh sentence.
