President dos Santos contributed to stability in Zimbabwe - diplomat

Luanda -The contribution of the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the political stability in Zimbabwe, was Thursday acknowledged by the Zimbabwean ambassador to Angola, James Manzou.

Luanda -The contribution of the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the political stability in Zimbabwe, was Thursday acknowledged by the Zimbabwean ambassador to Angola, James Manzou.

The diplomat said so after an audience granted by the National Assembly Speaker, Paulo Kassoma, which marked the end of his mission in the country.

He recalled that Angola has opened a credit line of USD 50 million aimed at bringing the African country out of the crisis.

According to him, while at the presidency of the Organ of Defence and Security of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Angola did its best in negotiation process aimed at resolution of the crisis in Zimbabwe.

James Manzou considered stable the political situation of his country, which is working toward the improvement of social situation of people.

The diplomat, who will hold the same post in Switzerland, also noted that his mission to Angola was a success, judging by the expansion of relations between the two countries in various domains.

He also highlighted the cooperation between the two parliaments.
