Harare — Two people died on the spot while eight others were injured when an Isuzu KB truck being driven by Hwange Central legislator Mr Brian Tshuma (MDC-T) overturned along the Harare-Bulawayo Road yesterday afternoon.

The accident occurred near the 122,5km peg between Kadoma and Chegutu. National Traffic police spokesperson Inspector Tigere Chigome yesterday said the vehicle, which had 10 passengers on board, was heading towards Chegutu.

On approaching the 122,5km peg, the lorry in front of him tried to overtake a tractor. On realising that there was an oncoming vehicle in the other lane, the lorry driver changed his mind and got into the MP's way.  Mr Tshuma braked heavily resulting in the car veering off the road and rolled several times killing the two pssengers and injuring the driver.
