Chisora has a point to prove as a heavy-weight boxer

Zimbabwe -born DEREK CHISORA reckons he is the heavyweight everyone wants to avoid.

Chisora was due to challenge Danny Williams for the British title on Saturday night.

Williams withdrew claiming a virus had laid him low — leaving promoter Frank Warren racing against time to find Del Boy a new opponent

Carl Baker agreed to step in at short notice but Chisora admits there was far from a long queue of eager fighters willing to do the same.

The unbeaten Londoner told SunSport: "No heavyweight wants to fight me — we had to force Baker to get in the ring with me.

"When they told me who I was boxing, I was like 'Who's Carl Baker?'

"But I respect him. Anyone who is willing to get in the ring has my respect."

Londoner Chisora has won all 11 of his fights since making his pro debut in 2007.

He admits it has been a long road so far but his clash with Baker at Wembley Arena will provide a stiff test.

Chisora is probably in the best shape of his life for what will be his first fight over 10 rounds.

He is supremely confident of picking up his 12th victory and could not be more relaxed ahead of his big night.

Del Boy joked: "I'm excited! Bang! Wallop! I'm going to knock him out in the first round!"

Chisora admits he cannot guarantee his fans a first-round stoppage but is confident his work will be done inside four rounds.

And he is happy to forget about Williams as he looks to further his career.

The 26-year-old added: "I was disappointed but it happens with Williams.

"He's always pulling out of fights so we couldn't really do anything.

"For a heavyweight, it takes a long time to mature in the ring, but we're getting there."
