BENJANI looks a summer target for Blackburn's Sam Allardyce.
The Manchester City striker completed a loan move to Sunderland at the end of the January window but looks like being on the move again.
The Zimbabwean, 31, has been told he can leave Eastlands.
Sunderland have an option to buy in the summer - but boss Allardyce has enquired about the former Portsmouth striker as he is desperate to bolster his frontline.
The Rovers chief failed to sign a striker in January after missing out on Eidur Gudjohnsen and James Beattie. He also allowed Benni McCarthy to join West Ham.
Benjani cost £7.6million when he was signed by City two years ago.
His severe injury problems meant they only paid about half the sum because he did not start 75 games, which would have triggered further payments.
