HARARE, Zimbabwe, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Three members of Zimbabwe's Movement for Democratic Change have been accused by the party of corruption and inciting violence, officials said.

The party, headed by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, suspended Alexio Musundire, a member of Parliament, from the party for two years, the New Zimbabwean reported Tuesday.

The suspension does not affect Musundire's job in Parliament, said party spokesman Nelson Chamisa, who did not elaborate on allegations of violence against Musundire.

The party also suspended Israel Marange, the former mayor of Chitungwiza, and Rangarirai Mutingwende, a former councilor, for five years each for corruption allegations, Chamisa said.

Marange and Mutingwende are accused of granting civil positions to party supporters in exchange for money, authorities said.
