Inflation falls in Zimbabwe
Monthly inflation in Zimbabwe fell 0.9 percentage points in November to -0.1 percent, a government statistics agency said Friday.
The Central Statistical Office said the fall, from 0.8 percent in October, was due to falling consumer prices as retailers slashed prices to woo Christmas shoppers.
It said both food and non-food inflation was down in November, reversing increases noted the previous month.
"The month on month food and non alcoholic beverages inflation stood at 0.12 per cent in November 2009, shedding 0.19 percentage points on the October rate of 0.31 percent.
The month-on-month non-food inflation stood at -0.15 percent, shedding 1.18 percentage points on the October rate of 1.03 percent," the agency said.
