Harare airport 'crash' just an emergency drill - British foreign Affairs

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Foreign Office said a reported incident at Zimbabwe's Harare Airport on Thursday was a drill and no aircraft had been involved in an accident.

Zimbabwean Civil Aviation authorities earlier reported there had been an accident at the airport leading to injuries but no deaths, with media saying the flight involved had originated in London.

"As we understand it, it's a drill, it isn't real, it hasn't really happened," a British Foreign Office spokeswoman said.

"We have got somebody on the way to the airport just to check. We have spoken to airport and air authorities and they say it's a drill."
