Tehran is willing to boost its ties with African states- DFM

Visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad-Reza Bagheri has discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues with Zimbabwean minister of Foreign Affairs Simbarashe Mumbengewi in Harare.

Bagheri is in Harare heading a delegation to discuss issues of mutual interests with senior officials of Zimbabwe.

He has so far visited President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvanfirai.

Bagheri and Mumbengewi stressed the need for further strengthening of Tehran-Harare relations as well as their cooperation in international arena.

The Zimbabwean FM also appreciated Iran’s humanitarian aid for the people of his country during the present severe economic crisis as well as Tehran’s help to fight cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe.

Bagheri said for his part that Tehran is willing to boost its ties with African states, Zimbabwe in particular.
