10-year-old raped, tests positive for HIV

An SA man will appear in court on Friday for allegedly raping his 10-year-old niece, Eastern Cape police said.The mother of the child noticed her daughter was behaving abnormally and took her to hospital where she was told her child had been sexually abused. The child also tested positive for HIV and Aids, said Inspector Victor Bojabotseha. "The man had been raping the girl since January this year, the rape happened in the Maletsaai area," he said.Bojabotseha said the incident was reported on Wednesday and the 45-year-old man was arrested."He will be appearing at the Aliwal North Magistrate's Court today [Friday] for a rape charge."
